|    Eco-Quest

Eco-Quest consists of a 2.5 mile paddle, 5 miles of running (both road and trail) and 10 miles of biking (trail). If you are competing in the Ironman division this means you alone will compete in all of the events, one after another. If you are on a 3 person team one member will paddle, one will run, and one will bike.

For the Ironman, Eco-Quest will have categories for males and females. The River Towns Race Series does have categories for ages also, so this will allow you points for that series. In addition, this year the team category can accumulate points in the River Towns Race Series. This information will obtained on your registration form that you turn in.  For more information about the series you can visit the River Towns Race Series website by clicking here.

Handing in your registration before race day will make check-in much smoother for the racer(s) involved and we won't make you walk the plank. If you register March 31 you will get a FREE race t-shirt. The t-shirts can be ordered on race day for a separate fee. We will take orders on race day for shirts and have them available for pickup at a later date. The cost of the t-shirt will be $10.

Here is a campus map and directions to upper campus.

On the day of the race, you can park in the Monty's parking lot. Click on the campus map link from above to find where Monty's is located. If this lot is full there is additional parking around upper campus.

The registration tent is at the Quest Climbing Wall located on the upper campus of Bloomsburg University.  Registration is from 7:00-8:15am. The pre-race meeting is at 8:15am at the climbing wall near the registration tent.  All racers are required to attend. After the pre-race meeting, we will have university buses providing transportation for the racers (and spectators if space allows).
For a three person team, one person will paddle, another will run, and the final person will bike. The two people who are paddling and running will be transported to their respective starting areas. The third team member will remain on upper campus for the biking portion. Solo racers will need to carry your running gear with you in your boat. Your bike gear can stay with your bike.

There will be a hydration station at the end of the paddling section at the transition point with the running section.  There will also be a hydration station at our central location which is located near the climbing wall on the BU upper campus.  This is where the transition from the run to the bike will occur. A local food service company, "The Green Chef a go go" will be providing a small selection of sandwiches, pastries, and beverages for purchase before, during and after the race.  "The Green Chef a go go " specializes in healthy, whole foods designed to power you through a day of racing.  There will be something for vegetarians and meat eaters.

The best place to watch the race as a spectator is probably on the upper campus of BU.  If you would like to see the river component anywhere along the course can be good. Realize many places along the course have limited parking and our race vehicles will have first priority. If there is additional room in the shuttle vehicles for spectators we will allow them to fill seats.  To ride a university vehicle you must be over 18 years of age.

Quest staff will be taking photos during the race day and will be posting them on Quest's sumgmug site at www.buquestphotos.org.  If you want a photo of a specific racer during a specific event it's best to take it on your own. Finally, the ceremony will occur after everyone has completed the race. We hope this will happen between 12:30PM and 1:00PM. This ceremony will take place at the registration tent near the climbing wall.
