Journey Program

What is the Journey Program?

This is a hands on Instructor Course providing the opportunity for you to excel as a leader and to become competent in taking the role as a Quest Instructor. The focus will be on Adventure Programming.

What is Adventure Programming?

Experiential Education trips for students and community members ranging from kayaking, rafting, backpacking, hiking, caving, rock climbing, cross country skiing and so much more! You will learn the entire process of logistical planning, leading, and organizing debriefs for the Adventure Programs.

Can I apply?

All Bloomsburg University students are eligible to apply. All majors, all types of leaders, introverted or extroverted are welcome. No previous outdoor experience is necessary.

What certifications will I receive?

  • NOLS WM Wilderness First Aid – Nationally recognized 16 hour wilderness first aid course.
  • GEP Point – Citizenship Point for Bloomsburg University

How will this benefit me?

There are not many opportunities in life that provide you with the platform to understand human interactions and dynamics that translate into the workplace. All lessons learned during your time in this course can be applied to your personal and professional future. Thus, allowing you to understand how to process, make decisions, to take on challenges with confidence, and to speak and act with intention.

A maximum of 10 student leaders.
